Tellclip can copy a screenshot, save a PNG, and keep a separate local history copy.

Choose capture behavior

1

Open screenshot settings

Open Tellclip Settings. Select Screenshots.
Turn on Copy to clipboard after capture to copy each new screenshot. Turn on Save screenshots automatically to write each screenshot as a PNG. To use another folder, select Choose… under Files. Tellclip uses Downloads until you select another folder. You can recover, copy, or save a recent screenshot from this menu. The card can close after five seconds. Hover over the card to keep it open.

Use the screenshot card

Hover over the card to show Copy to clipboard, Edit, and a save or trash action. If the screenshot has a default style, the card also shows Copy without style.

Use Recent Screenshots

1

Open the history

Select Recent Screenshots… from the Tellclip menu.
2

Choose an action

Select Open in Editor, Copy Image, Save to, Reveal in Finder, or Delete from History.
Tellclip keeps enabled history entries on this Mac for 30 days. Nothing in screenshot history uploads to Tellclip. The history has a 2 GB disk budget. If the history exceeds this budget, Tellclip removes the oldest entries. Deleting a saved PNG does not immediately delete its separate history copy. Deleting a history entry does not describe the saved-file state.

Common errors

A screenshot says Not saved

Select Save to in Recent Screenshots. Tellclip saves the PNG to the folder in screenshot settings.

A saved screenshot is missing

Open Recent Screenshots. If the history entry exists, select Save to to create a new saved copy.

Saving fails

Make sure that the destination folder is available. If the disk is full, free space and save again.
