Use the timeline to remove unwanted sections and choose precise edit points.

Cut and delete a section

Select the Cut tool

Click Cut, or press C.

Add the first cut

Click the start of the unwanted section on the video lane.

Add the second cut

Click the end of the unwanted section.

Select the segment

Exit the Cut tool. Click the segment between the cuts.

Delete the segment

Click Delete, or press the Delete key.
The deleted section does not play in the preview or exported video.

The yellow border shows the selected segment. The scissors show each cut boundary. You can click a cut marker to remove that cut. You can also use Split at Playhead from a segment menu.

Move through the timeline

  • Press Space to play or pause.
  • Press the Left Arrow or Right Arrow key to move one frame.
  • Add Shift to move one second.
  • Use the timeline zoom controls for detailed edits.
  • Click Fit to show the complete timeline.

Common errors

Delete is unavailable

Select a video segment or zoom range first. Tellclip does not delete the last remaining video segment.

A cut is in the wrong position

Click the cut marker to remove it. Then place a new cut at the correct position.

You need the original timeline

Click Reset all edits. Click Reset. This action restores the original files and removes all timeline edits.
