Recording settings change the behavior of new recordings. Tellclip saves these settings for later sessions.

Open Settings

Open Settings from the Tellclip menu.

Open Recording

Select Recording in the sidebar.

Change a setting

Turn the required setting on or off.

Capture settings

Tellclip keeps the raw microphone track. You can change Remove Background Noise for each recording in the editor.

Dock setting

Show Tellclip in the Dock is in Settings → General. It is on by default. Turn it off to keep Tellclip in the menu bar only: the app launches without the capture window, and the Dock icon appears only while an editor is open. Open the capture window from the Tellclip menu (Show Capture Window) or press Command-Option-T. Closing the capture window never quits Tellclip. The app keeps running in the menu bar.

Sharing setting

Open the clip page after the first upload controls Instant completion. Turn it off to copy the link without opening a browser.

Common errors

The capture window appears in the recording

Turn on Hide the capture window while recording before you start.

Noise removal changes the voice too much

Open the recording in the editor. In Sound, turn off Remove Background Noise.
